New Standpipe Operational At Evans Road East, Cabarlah

Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has installed and opened a new smart water standpipe at Evans Road East at Cabarlah.

The new standpipe is available for businesses and residents from today (Monday 15 September) and will replace the previous Borghardt Road, Highfields standpipe which will soon be decommissioned.

TRC Water Operations portfolio spokesperson Councillor Kerry Shine said the new standpipe was in a safer and more accessible location.

"The new Evans Road East filling station at Cabarlah will replace the existing standpipes at Borghardt Road at Highfields which are being decommissioned on 6 October.

"The Evans Road facility is located in a much safer and more accessible location and away from facilities such as schools and daycare centres that were near to the previous site," Cr Shine said.

"Users of the Evans Road East facility will need a touch tag to purchase water similar to other sites across the Toowoomba Region.

"Those who used the previous Borghardt Road facility are required to return any keys at a TRC Customer Service Centre and, if required, apply for a touch tag to access the new Evans Road East facility," he said.

To arrange for a touch tag call TRC's call centre on 131 872.
