The New Year's Eve (NYE) free family movie screening of "DC League of Super Pets" at Fogarty Park, Cairns Esplanade, has been cancelled due to the ongoing inclement weather.
The movie was scheduled to screen at 6.30pm tomorrow before the 8.30pm fireworks.
Council has cancelled the screening as Fogarty Park is waterlogged and unsuitable to host the event.
At this time, the free NYE movie screen at Walker Road Sports Precinct in Edmonton is still to go ahead, but Council will continue to monitor the condition of the venue to determine its suitability.
The NYE fireworks displays at the Esplanade, Edmonton and Palm Cove are still scheduled to go ahead as planned.
Fireworks displays will be held at all three venues at 8.30pm, with midnight fireworks display at the Esplanade.
These events may be cancelled at short notice in the event of unfavourable or unsafe weather conditions.
