Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Newlands last night, Monday 15 March 2021.
About 8.05pm, a 21-year-old man was driving a grey Mazda 3 sedan north along South Western Highway. The vehicle left the road and entered a large drain before hitting a tree.
The driver received critical injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene.
Investigators are urging anyone with dash-cam or mobile phone vision of the Mazda 3 sedan travelling in the area prior to the crash, to upload the vision via this link: https://wapf.au.evidence.com/axon/citizen/public/newlandsfatalcrash
