Logan grower recognised in national gardening campaign
Logan resident Doreen Jachmann has been recognised through the national Grow It Local campaign for her contribution to community gardening and sustainable living.
Doreen, the Local Grower Award winner, is the founder of Permaculture Connect, a Logan-based group that helps residents build the skills and confidence to grow their own food.
Her work was highlighted during the Grow It Local Community Garden Tour on March 30 at Yarrabilba Community Garden, delivered in partnership with Logan City Council.
The hands-on event saw locals join Doreen and Grow It Local co-founders Paul West and Darryl Nichols to prepare the garden for planting herbs, vegetables and flowers.
Council supported the initiative, promoting sustainable living and food waste reduction across Logan.
