Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal crash which occurred in Newtown this morning.
Officers have been told a car collided with a mobility scooter at the intersection of Pakington and Skene streets about 10am.
The rider of the scooter, a 78-year-old Geelong West woman, was taken to hospital where she later died.
The male driver, a 50-year-old man from Newtown, of the car has been assisting police with their enquires.
