Murray River Council will commence upgrade and renewal works at the corners of Niemur and Murray Streets Barham, fromMonday 5 January 2026.
The project will renew ageing infrastructure and improve pedestrian safety and accessibility at the intersections. Works will be delivered by Council's contractor, Earthworks Civil.
Mayor, Cr John Harvie said the project would deliver practical safety improvements for the Barham community.
"These works will improve access and safety for pedestrians while renewing some kerb infrastructure that has reached the end of its service life."
No major road closures are expected during the works, although intermittent traffic management may be in place.
Construction will be carried out in stages to reduce impacts on nearby properties, with residents contacted directly if driveway access is affected.
"The project has been staged to minimise disruption for residents and road users," Cr Harvie said.
"We thank locals for their patience while these important upgrades are completed."
Anticipated completion date is 27 March.
