Nine men charged following tattoo parlour fires

Task Force Echo detectives have charged nine men with links to the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gang after two tattoo parlour fires were destroyed by fire in Melbourne’s east earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Both tattoo shops, on Warburton Highway, Seville and Hardy Street in Lilydale were completely destroyed by fire on 13 May 2015 with a damage cost of more than $250,000.

Nine men have all been charged with two counts of arson and aggravated burglary.

They are –

A 27-year- old Mooroolbark man, a 52-year-old Wandin man, 23-year-old Launching Place man, a 24-year-old Ringwood man, a 33 year-old Lilydale man, a 42-year-old Edithvale man, a 38-year-old Thomastown man, a 45-year-old Monbulk man and a 28-year-old Mount Evelyn man.

The first six men will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

And the other three will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

The community can be assured and confident that Victoria Police will continue its strong focus on any criminal activities associated with rival Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and any other groups.
