Ninety thousand dollars seized after crash; man charged at Temora

A man has been charged after crashing his car and being found in possession of more than $90,000 in the state's south west.

Just before 10am yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2020), a Ford Ranger utility was involved in a single vehicle crash on Goldfields Way, approximately 20km south of Temora.

The vehicle was travelling south towards Wagga Wagga, when it left the road and rolled several times.

The driver managed to escape with minor injuries and was assisted by a passing motorist, who drove the man to Temora.

Officers from Riverina Police District were advised and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police located the driver, a 48-year-old man, on Hoskins Street, Temora.

The man was allegedly found to be in possession of more than $90,000, concealed within a small carry bag.

He was arrested and taken to Temora Police Station, where he was charged with deal with proceeds of crime and negligent driving.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Temora Local Court on Wednesday 24 June 2020.
