With Easter around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce a few of the smallest residents at our Community Animal Shelter in Mornington, our pocket pets!
While they might be known for their fluffy ears and quiet charm, rabbits like Fondue, Baguette and Dobby are anything but low maintenance. Behind the scenes, our team puts in a huge amount of care to keep them happy and healthy.
That means spacious enclosures, daily enrichment, access to outdoor areas for grazing, and a constant supply of the right food to support their sensitive digestive systems.
It's a careful balance of comfort and stimulation, making sure they have room to move, things to chew, and plenty to keep their curious minds engaged. Because when rabbits get bored or unwell, it shows quickly, and that's something we work hard to prevent every single day.
Easter might shine a spotlight on bunnies, but here at the shelter, their care is a year round commitment. And for the team looking after them, it's all part of making sure every small life gets the attention it deserves.
