Awards to recognise people who do great things for Mosman are now open for nominations ahead of Australia Day.
Residents, community organisations, schools, sporting groups and others are invited to nominate a local legend for the Mosman Citizen of the Year and Mosman Young Citizen of the Year.
Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber said people from all walks of life fostered the community spirit and village atmosphere that made Mosman so special.
"It's wonderful to be part of such a proud and passionate community," she said.
"Our Australia Day Awards are a way for us all to recognise those individuals who give their time and go above and beyond for others to make our suburb such a vibrant place.
"If you know someone who has made a contribution to Mosman, or deserves recognition for a great individual achievement, I encourage you to nominate them for an Australia Day Award."
The award categories are:
- Citizen of the Year (Age: 19 years and over)
- Young Citizen of the Year (Age: 12 to 18 years of as at 26 January 2026)
The awards are open to residents who have made a particular effort during the preceding year for the benefit of Mosman, or have been involved in activities which have brought credit to the Mosman area, and non-residents who have been involved in voluntary community service or other activities directly benefiting the Mosman community, environment, or bringing credit to Mosman.
Past award recipients have contributed to the community in a variety of ways, through involvement in education, health, sport, community groups, safety, local history, local events and festivals, the arts, youth services, church groups and the environment.
Submitting a nomination for someone is simple. Visit Council's community engagement website and share why the chosen person or organisation deserves to be celebrated by the Mosman community: yourvoicemosman.com.au
Nominations are open until 3 December. Awards will be presented at a ceremony on 26 January 2026.
