North Sydney Creative Spaces 2026 Apps Closing Soon

North Sydney Council

North Sydney Council is calling on artists, designers, writers and creative practitioners to apply for its 2026 Creative Spaces program before applications close on 30 November.

Creative Spaces provides affordable and fully subsidised studio residencies across three creative hubs in Cremorne, Waverton and Milsons Point, supporting up to 11 creatives or collectives for a 12-month period.

Two standout residency streams are open in 2026 - the Coal Loader Residency, designed for interdisciplinary artists passionate about community collaboration and sustainability, and two First Nations Residencies on Cammeraygal land at Milsons Point, offering dedicated cultural and creative support for First Nations creatives in a culturally safe and respectful environment.

Mayor Zoë Baker said the program is central to Council's commitment to nurturing local creativity and cultural connection.

"The Creative Spaces Program is a key part of Council's vision to expand access to places where creativity can thrive. By investing in dedicated studios and professional support, we're empowering artists and strengthening North Sydney's identity as a place where cultural participation and creative production are actively supported."

Residency participants receive access to a fully or partially subsidised studio space for 12 months, paid opportunities to share their work through community events and access to a Council-funded professional development program.
