Victorian Government resurfacing works are underway on the Northern Highway in Wallan, with crews upgrading the road surface on the ramp from the Northern Highway to the Hume Freeway.
Works are taking place at night between 7pm and 5.30am from Sunday 24 May to Thursday 4 June, excluding Friday and Saturday nights, weather permitting.
The works are aimed at improving the condition of the road surface and maintaining safer travel conditions for motorists.
What to expect during works
During work hours, the ramp from the Northern Highway to the Hume Freeway will be closed with detours in place.
Detours for general traffic will be via:
- Wallan-Whittlesea Road
- Epping-Kilmore Road
- Merriang Road
- Donnybrook Road
Heavy vehicles will need to detour via Wandong Road to access the Hume Freeway.
Reduced speed limits and traffic management will also be in place to help protect workers and road users.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow all signage and traffic directions while works are underway.
