Notice to appear - Serious crash - Howard Springs

Northern Territory Police have issued a notice to appear to a 25-year-old man following a vehicle crash in March.

At around 1:20am on Sunday 22 March 2020, the man was the driver of a vehicle which rolled multiple times on Hicks Road, Howard Springs. All three occupants, including the driver, were ejected from the vehicle due to none wearing seatbelts.

The driver and a 24-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and a 23-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

The driver was subjected to a toxicology test which provided a blood alcohol content of .136 and the presence of MDMA.

Following a formal interview with detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit, the man was issued a noticed to appear for:

  • drive motor vehicle causing serious harm
  • recklessly endanger life x2
  • medium range blood alcohol content
  • drug in blood
  • exceed speed limit 31-45km/h
  • drive vehicle without seatbelt fastened.

He is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday 1 July 2020.
