The University of Notre Dame Australia's Innovation and Design team has been named the only Australian winner of the 2026 Blackboard Catalyst Award for Training and Professional Development, recognising the University's leadership in using technology to enhance professional learning and capability across its workforce.
Presented annually, the Blackboard Catalyst Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in education institutions worldwide.
Notre Dame's recognition highlights its commitment to strengthening staff capability, supporting effective technology adoption and delivering high-quality educational experiences.
Head of Innovation and Design Michelle Katavatis said the team was proud to be recognised with a Blackboard Catalyst Award.
"This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and educators, who are committed to continuous learning and to delivering engaging, meaningful experiences for our students," she said.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Professor David Sadler also acknowledged the award as a significant milestone for Notre Dame.
"The award recognises bold ideas, measurable impact, and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for our students," Professor Sadler said.
The Training and Professional Development Award recognises institutions that use Blackboard systems to elevate training and development for educators and staff, strengthening skills and supporting successful technology adoption across their organisations.
Blackboard chief executive officer Bruce Dahlgren said the winners represented the very best of innovation, collaboration and commitment to learner success.
