Now is time to clear property - Wollongong

While the Wollongong area has not yet been affected by bushfires, the threat is very real in our neighbouring LGAs and now is a good time to clear your property of fallen leaves, twigs and debris.

To assist residents with cleaning up their properties, Wollongong City Council is offering free green waste drop off points across Wollongong for this weekend and the next.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Cr Gordon Bradbery AM said: "Now is a good time to clear your property and remove fallen leaves, twigs and debris.

"The RFS has some excellent tips on preparing your home for bushfire on its website.

"You can also check if your property is on bush fire prone land on the RFS website."

Council is also monitoring and maintaining Asset Protection Zones and Council-managed open space and natural areas.

The additional green waste drop off points are outlined in the table below.
