NSW Detectives Pursue Gold Coast Man Extradition for Drug Offences

Organised Crime Squad detectives will seek to extradite a man from the Gold Coast to Sydney following an investigation into alleged commercial drug supply around Australia under Strike Force Maimura.

Strike Force Maimura is a joint investigation between State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad and the Australian Federal Police – with assistance from the NSW Crime Commission, Western Australia Police and Queensland Police – which identified a criminal group allegedly involved in drug supply across Australia using private planes and encrypted devices (DECCDs).

About 9.40am today (Tuesday 27 February 2024), strike force detectives executed a search warrant on the Gold Coast, where they arrested a 55-year-old man.

He will be taken to Southport Police Station where NSW Police will make an application to Southport Magistrates Court to extradite him to NSW.
