NSW Kicks Off $95M Temora Hospital Redevelopment

Construction is underway on the $95 million Temora Hospital Redevelopment, marking a significant milestone in delivering enhanced health services for Temora and surrounding communities in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Regional Health Minister Ryan Park and Stephen Lawrence MLC today joined health workers on site for a traditional sod turn event, to mark the start of main works construction.

The $95 million redevelopment will deliver new health facilities and upgraded health services for Temora and the surrounding communities, ensuring residents can access high-quality care in modern health facilities that are closer to home, now and into the future.

The community will benefit from new services at the hospital, including a purpose-built operating theatre and procedure room in the perioperative suite and an expanded medical imaging unit. For the first time, the hospital will offer CT services, along with a new ultrasound service, improving access to medical imaging capabilities.

The redevelopment will include:

  • An Emergency Department
  • Inpatient Unit for flexible use for medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, and palliative care patients
  • Birthing and nursery suite
  • Operating theatre and procedure room
  • Allied health and ambulatory clinics with gymnasium
  • Community health and mental health, drug and alcohol services
  • Expanded medical Imaging, including the hospital's first CT machine and ultrasound service.

Improved car parking for patients, staff and visitors, as well as separate emergency and service vehicle entry will also be delivered as part of the redevelopment.

Richard Crookes Construction was recently engaged as the building contractor following a competitive tender process.

The redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2028.
