NSW Police Operation Mongoose Warns Against Harbouring Suspects

A warning is being issued to anyone who is allegedly assisting in harbouring riders on stolen vehicles.

Operation Regional Mongoose recommenced on 1 November 2022 to target property and break and enter offences, and vehicle thefts throughout the Gunnedah and Tamworth areas.

The operation has resulted in 26 arrested, with more than 62 charges.

As investigations continue, police wish to remind anyone assisting, or harbouring persons or vehicles may be committing an offence.

Police have released images of multiple motorcycles seen riding in the Tamworth area and are encouraging anyone with information or dashcam/video footage to contact or Tamworth Police Station Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Operation Western Mongoose consisted of officers from the Proactive Crime Team, detectives, the Crime Prevention Unit within Oxley Police District, Western Region Enforcement Squad, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Youth Command, Aviation Command and the Dog Unit.
