NSW police probe armed robberies

Police are investigating two armed robberies that are believed to be linked in Quakers Hill overnight, NSW Police say.

Police have been told just after 9.30pm today, a 59-year-old man had just returned home to his residence on Hillcrest Road when a group of men approached him as he got out of his car.

The group of four to six men then threatened the man and demanded money. One of them men has hit the 59-year-old man with a hammer and a second man has punched him.

The men have taken the wallet of the man and then left the scene on foot.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene but did not require further treatment.

A short time later a 67-year-old man who lives at an adjacent property on Hillcrest Road was approached by a group of three men.

One of the men has punched the man in the nose.

The men then attempted to search the man’s pockets but left the scene empty handed.

The 67-year-old man was treated by NSW paramedics for a suspected broken nose and has been taken to Blacktown Hospital.

Officers from Quakers Hill Local Area Command are investigating both incidents and wish to speak to a group of men who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his twenties and about 165cm tall. He was seen wearing a light coloured baseball cap and a short sleeve shirt.

The second man is describe as being Caucasian in appearance, in his twenties, about 180cm tall with a large build. He was seen wearing a green coloured jacket and carrying a bag.

The third man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his twenties, about 170cm with a medium build. He was seen wearing a white shirt.

Police were unable to get a description of other men who may have been with the group at the time of the incident.
