NSW police re-appeal for info after child approached

Police are investigating after a girl was approached twice this month at Berowra Heights, NSW Police say.

The first incident occurred about 3.50pm on Thursday 12 May 2016, when the 12-year-old girl was walking near the intersection of Hillcrest Road and Koorong Street.

Police have been told an unknown man approached the girl and spoke to her. The girl ran from the scene, uninjured.

The second incident occurred just before 8.30am yesterday (13 May 2016), when the girl was walking along Warrina Street.

As the girl approached the intersection of Warwick Street, she was approached by the same man who grabbed her by her clothing.

The girl was able to free herself, and she ran from the scene and informed her teacher, who contacted police.

Officers from Kuring Gai Local Area Command attended and are investigating the two incidents.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, about 168cm tall, of slim build and with a pale complexion.

The man was seen wearing a black hooded jumper with ‘chewed strings’, black long pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information, or driving in the area around the time of the two incidents with a dash cam installed is urged to contact Hornsby Detectives on (02) 9476 9703 or Crime Stopers.
