NSW State Emergency Service (SES) continue to respond to communities affected by flooding and recent severe weather.
Since the onset of the severe weather, NSW SES has received more than 4,800 calls and responded to 2,505 incidents, including 39 flood rescues.
NSW SES is preparing for the impact of flooding in Narrabri and Wee Waa from this afternoon.
In Narrabri, moderate flooding is expected from Wednesday afternoon with major flooding possible later today. An emergency warning was issued for people in the Narrabri Caravan Park to evacuate before 7pm on Tuesday. Further emergency warnings have been issued for low lying areas including the Narrabri Industrial Estate, Narrabri Racecourse and surrounding areas, and residents should evacuate by 2pm today (Wednesday). Additional areas are being warned to prepare to evacuate, as floodwaters continues to rise.
Floodwaters are expected to reach Wee Waa on Wednesday evening. A Watch and Act warning is in place, with people advised not to enter floodwaters.
NSW SES has positioned assets in Narrabri and Wee Waa in preparation.
In Gunnedah, the river has peaked but floodwaters are expected to remain for several days. Low lying properties remain under an Emergency Warning, with residents in the affected areas advised to shelter in place, as it is too late to leave. NSW SES provided resupply to affected residents yesterday.
In the Hunter, flooding continues to ease and the Emergency Warning for parts of Raymond Terrace has been de-escalated to Watch and Act.
There are still more than 46 warnings current for residents across the Mid North Coast, Upper Hunter and New England regions.
More than 2,200 volunteers have been activated to respond throughout the state, while helicopters and high clearance vehicles were deployed to impacted areas.
