NSW SES Steps Right Up To Sydney Royal Easter Show 2026

An NSW SES interactive display in the Home and Lifestyle Pavillion will reinforce critical messaging to steer clear of floods by turning around and finding another way.

Visitors of all ages will be invited to meet volunteer rescuers, take part in a putt putt golf activity and explore a driving through floodwater vehicle display.

Showgoers can also test their knowledge about the dangers of floodwaters to take home prizes including car air fresheners, croc jibbitz and other merchandise.

NSW SES Commissioner Mike Wassing AFSM said the event is a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the community.

"With school holidays around the corner, we encourage families visiting the show to stop by and learn how to prepare for storms and floods," Commissioner Wassing said.

"Simple actions and informed decisions can save lives, especially when it comes to avoiding floodwater."

The NSW SES regularly attends community events across the state, including regional shows and fairs, helping volunteers connect with the communities they serve.

"Events like the Easter Show allow our volunteers to meet people from across NSW and share practical advice to help them prepare for natural disasters," Commissioner Wassing said.

"By speaking directly with community members, we aim to build awareness of local risks and empower people to make safer choices before, during and after emergencies."

Children will also be encouraged to complete a multiagency challenge booklet designed to interact with all the NSW Emergency Services at the show to receive a prize.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show runs from Thursday 2 April to Monday 13 April at Sydney Olympic Park.

The NSW SES stall, which is sponsored by AAMI, can be found at the Home and Lifestyle Pavillion, which is next to the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome.
