The Northern Territory is today reporting the deaths of two people from COVID-19.

A woman in her 80s from Greater Darwin had underlying health conditions and passed away at home.

A man in his 70s visiting the NT from South Australia had underlying health conditions and passed away at Royal Darwin Hospital.

The total number of COVID-19 related deaths recorded in the NT since the start of the pandemic is 70.

There were 98 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 4pm on 1 September 2022.

There are currently 19 patients in hospital. There are three patients requiring oxygen and no patients are in ICU.

The number of active cases in the NT is 654.
