Long-serving NDA Chief Executive Officer, David Peattie, will step down in March 2027.
David Peattie, NDA's long-serving Chief Executive Officer, has informed the Board that he will step down in March 2027, after completing what will be ten years at the helm of the organisation.
NDA Chair, Peter Hill, CBE said:
The Board and I are very grateful to David for the early indication of his intention to step down and when he leaves in March 2027 he will do so with our best wishes and gratitude for a job exceedingly well done.
We will now begin the process of finding a replacement for David who has achieved so much since he joined the NDA in 2017. We now have the time to enable a seamless transition and I look forward to working with David into 2027 as we continue to deliver our mission.
David Peattie added:
I look forward to continuing to work with Peter, the Board and our great executive team. March 2027 will be the right time for me to hand over the reins to my successor who can take the NDA to the next stages of its development.
The work we do and the quality of the people we have continues to impress me every day and that is testament to them all. For now, it's business as usual as Peter and the Board search for my successor. There is much to do and lots I still want to achieve over the next 18 months.
The NDA have appointed Russell Reynolds Associates to perform a full competitive market search for the new CEO and expects to be able to announce David's replacement in time to allow a comprehensive handover process for what is one of the most complex and critical industrial roles in the UK.
The appointment will be made by the Board of the NDA, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, in consultation with Scottish Ministers.
