One person has died following a crash between a truck and a car on the Gibbston Valley Highway just west of Kawarau Bridge.
It happened around 8:45pm, and the Serious Crash Unit and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team are attending.
Diversions are being put in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
