NZ police seek witnesses to Maraenui assault

Police investigating an assault in Maraenui yesterday are appealing to witnesses and anyone with information to come forward and speak to Police.

Two teenagers were assaulted by two unknown offenders on Richmond Street, Maraenui at about 4.50pm yesterday.

One of the victims was treated in hospital for a broken bone sustained in the assault.

The other victim received an injury to their hand but did not need to be treated in hospital.

The offenders also took some of the victim's belongings before leaving the scene.
