OAS General Secretariat Condemns Iran's Attack on Israel

OAS

The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) unequivocally condemns the attack by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the State of Israel, and expresses its total solidarity with the Government and people of Israel at this time.

The Iranian regime, breaking the most basic norms of international law, continues to be a source of instability in the region and in the world in general.

Iran constitutes a global threat, as demonstrated by the history of Iranian attacks on Israel, which include those perpetrated in the Americas, such as the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992 and the terrorist attack against the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA), in 1994 in the same city.

The madness of fundamentalism, of hatred, channeled irrationally and wrongly by Iran in political and religious terms, once again produces warlike irrationality.

Peace requires that nations, peoples and individuals exercise their right to self-defense to combat terrorism, armed aggression and exercise the protection of their people, as an ethical and legal imperative.
