Off duty officer assaulted in Windsor

Two men will face court later this month after an off-duty police officer was assaulted, NSW Police say.

About 10.15pm yesterday, two men attended a licensed premises on Hawkesbury Valley Way, Clarendon, where they allegedly become intoxicated and aggressive.

The men were directed to leave, but allegedly refused and assaulted staff and other patrons so police were called.

An off duty officer approached one of the men and identified himself and when he attempted to arrest one of the men he was also assaulted.

Police attended the location and the men were arrested.

The pair allegedly continued to assault attending officers and was taken to Windsor Police Station.

The 42-year-old man was charged with remain in vicinity of licensed premises, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault police in execution of duty.

The 44-year-old man was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty.

Both men were granted conditional bail and will appear in Windsor Local Court on Thursday 24 August 2017.
