Officer charged, North Coast Region

A 32-year-old male police officer from the North Coast Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service. 

The senior constable has been charged with one count of rape pursuant to section 349 (1) of the Criminal Code 1899 and three counts of sexual assault pursuant to section 352 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code 1899.

The matters relate to an off-duty incident which is alleged to have occurred in January 2022.

The officer is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 21.
