An officer will appear in court next month charged with a firearms offence.
Earlier this month, officers from The Hills Police Area Command commenced inquiries after receiving information a man was not storing his firearms in accordance with Firearms Act legislation.
Following inquiries, a 51-year-old senior constable, attached to a specialist command, was arrested in Hornsby yesterday (Tuesday 12 October 2021) and taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was charged with not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 10 November 2021.
