Salesforce Hit With Service Disruption During Dreamforce

Salesforce is grappling with a service disruption, leaving some customers unable to access its core services.

The disruption began at 07:50 UTC on 16 September, or 5:50pm AEST, according to the company's status page.

Salesforce has classified the incident as an ongoing "Service Disruption" affecting its Core Service.

"During a service disruption, end users can't access the service," the company said.

Salesforce said its teams were investigating the problem, but has not yet disclosed what caused it or when services will be fully restored.

"We're investigating an issue impacting multiple instances across all regions where customers may experience severe delays, intermittent errors, or an inability to access some services."

The disruption comes as the high-profile Dreamforce conference is underway in San Francisco.

The three-day event is Salesforce's flagship annual conference and has brought customers, developers and technology leaders together at the Moscone Center.

Artificial intelligence has taken centre stage, including debate over its rapid development and the risks surrounding the technology.

Salesforce has also used Dreamforce to unveil AIforce, which allows AI systems to work with data, workflows and business logic held inside Salesforce.

The company is launching the technology alongside Claudeforce, which brings Salesforce directly into Anthropic's Claude and allows users to work with Salesforce data and tools from within the AI assistant.

Salesforce said the integration is now available to customers in beta.

The incident is being tracked by Salesforce under ID 20004433.

Salesforce said it would provide further updates as its engineers investigate the disruption.
