A police officer has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman in Sydney's south-west.
On Friday 21 March 2025, police were called to a home in South West Metropolitan Region, following reports of a domestic violence incident.
It's alleged that during the interaction with police, a 20-year-old woman was assaulted by an officer.
An internal investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the alleged actions of the officer involved.
Following an investigation, a 35-year-old senior constable attached to the South West Metropolitan Region was issued a court attendance notice for the offence of common assault.
The officer will appear before Picton Local Court on Thursday 31 July 2025.
The officer's employment status is currently under review.
