A police officer has been charged following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.
Strike Force Attain was established in July 2023 by the Professional Standards Command, following reports a Leading Senior Constable – attached to a command in the South West Metropolitan Region – had accessed restricted data while undertaking his duties.
Following inquiries, the 32-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice today (Wednesday 20 December 2023), for four counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer.
The officer – who has been suspended with pay since September 2023 – is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Monday 12 February 2024.
His employment status is currently under review.
