Officer charged - Western Region 3 October

A serving police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic-violence related offences.

On Monday 2 October 2023, officers attached to New England Police District received reports of a domestic-violence related incident near Armidale and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 41-year-old senior constable – attached to a command in the Western Region – was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court today (Tuesday 3 October 2023).

The officer's employment status is currently under review.
