Officers spend Christmas in hotel quarantine

The last thing most people would want to do during a global pandemic is get on a plane and travel overseas, but duty calls. Three South Australia Police officers all volunteered to travel to Thailand this month to extradite a high profile prisoner back into Adelaide, knowing they would have to go into quarantine for 14 days on their return.

It was an important and challenging job to bring the man back to face the South Australian courts. It has been a real sacrifice by the trio, who missed out on most of the festive period and Christmas Day with friends and family.

Today, Assistant Commissioner Peter Harvey delivered gift hampers to Steve, Maddi and Adam who are in hotel quarantine in appreciation and recognition of their dedication to their jobs and their service to the South Australian community during these difficult times.

We hope the hampers brighten their Christmas Day and break-up the monotony of hotel quarantine.
