Work will begin this Monday 13 September to repair a 170 metre section of Old Bar Road, west of the Warwiba Road intersection.
MidCoast Council contractors expect the work to take about one week to complete, weather permitting, with work being undertaken during the day under traffic control.
This work is to repair a section that has failed and follows previous drainage improvements to the area in preparation.
"Ground water was penetrating the road pavement and collecting under the eastbound traffic lane so in August last year we had new subsoil drainage lines installed to prevent the ground water entering the pavement in the future," explained Rhett Pattison, MidCoast Council's Manager of Projects and Engineering.
"Traffic will be restricted to a single lane while the work is taking place and motorists can expect some delays."
Rhett advised there will be active traffic controls in place from 6am to 6pm to try to minimise delays during peak periods, while traffic lights will be in place between 6pm and 6am.
