OMCG charges at Gold Coast

South East Region's Major and Organised Crime Squad has charged four people with drugs and weapons related offences after search warrants were carried out around the Gold Coast recently.

It will be alleged the search of a Marine Parade address in Labrador on Thursday, July 30 located 21 tabs of LSD, 1.6kg of marijuana and small amounts of cocaine, mushrooms and Valium.

On Friday, July 31 a search of an address on Bushgum Crescent in Upper Coomera allegedly uncovered 1.3kg of marijuana, six cannabis plants, cash and an electronic conductive device.

Another Labrador address on Gordon Street was also searched on Friday which is alleged to have located two firearms, two ballistic plates and a quantity of cash.

A 34-year-old Labrador man has been charged with 21 drug related offences.

A 33-year-old Upper Coomera man has been charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing utensils or pipes and unlawful possession of a weapon.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing utensils or pipes and unlawful possession of a weapon.

A 49-year-old woman from Labrador has been charged with one count each of possess tainted property, possess restricted items, possess explosives (ammunition) and two counts each of possess weapon.

The 34-year-old and 33-year-old men are due to front the Southport Magistrates Court on August 27.

Both the 28-year-old man and 49-year-old woman are scheduled to appear on September 16.
