One arrest and stolen property recovered at Hamilton

As stated by Acting Detective Sergeant Aaron Williams:

One person has been arrested and a number of stolen items have been recovered following search warrants in Hamilton today.

Stolen property including rings, clothing, watches and sunglasses have been recovered by Police during search warrants at several addresses.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on a number of charges relating to the aggravated robbery of the Michael Hill Jewellers at Bayfair in Tauranga on March 19 and the burglary of Kings and Queens at Bayfair in Tauranga on March 13.

He is due to appear in Hamilton District Court on Tuesday.

He is the second offender to be arrested in relation to the aggravated robbery.

Enquiries are continuing into both incidents and further arrests and charges are likely.

The brazen nature of these offences will not be tolerated by the community or Police.

Anyone who chooses to commit these types of offences will be apprehended and held to account.
