Labor is backing students, teachers and families with more state-of-the-art school buildings in Geelong.
Premier Ben Carroll today opened brand new classrooms at Bellaire Primary School in Highton.
The upgrades are a result of Labor's record investment in delivering 121 new schools and more than 2,400 school upgrades across Victoria.
We've invested more than $7.1 million in Bellaire Primary School to deliver major upgrades to the school's classrooms, facilities and open spaces.
The project delivered a new junior learning centre, a new half basketball court, upgraded classrooms and better landscaping.
These world-class facilities mean a better learning environment for students, and a better working environment for staff.
Labor has now invested almost $600 million in school infrastructure in Geelong, backing local families and students in their own backyard.
When Jess Wilson's Liberals and Nationals were last in government, they cut $1 billion from education.
Now, they want to cut regional school funding, let schools crumble and leave families in Geelong to pick up the bill.
They said it themselves - guaranteeing only 25% for regional school infrastructure.
Only Labor is making sure every child, no matter their postcode, gets a world-class public education close to home.
As stated by Premier Ben Carroll
"We're delivering world-class public schools for Geelong kids, because Geelong's future is written in its classrooms."
"Only Labor has a track-record of education investment in Geelong - Jess Wilson's Liberals and Nationals just have a track-record of education cuts."
As stated by Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney
"These upgrades at Bellaire Primary School show the difference Labor is making - backing Geelong families with state-of-the-art school facilities."
