Western Australians have another reason to explore the East Kimberley's stunning landscapes and ancient history with a Kimberley Wanderer Pass.
The McGowan Government initiative, developed by Tourism Western Australia, gives people $300 towards participating tours and experiences in the East Kimberley, when they buy an airline ticket from Perth to Kununurra through Virgin Australia. The offer applies to new bookings made from today (March 29) until September 30, 2021, unless sold out.
The pass follows last year's historic regional flight deal where 50,000 affordable airfares went on sale, including between Perth and Kununurra, Broome and Exmouth (Qantas).
Limited affordable fares between Perth and Kununurra are still available through Virgin Australia, starting from $249 one way. Visitors will receive information about how they can access their pass within three days of making their booking.
The Kimberley Wanderer Pass will be redeemable through the Kununurra Visitor Centre online, by phone or in person from today until September 30, 2021 and conditions apply.
More information about the airfares is available at https://flights.virginaustralia.com/en-au/flights-from-perth-to-kununurra, while inspiration on how to 'spend' the Kimberley Wanderer Pass can be found at http://www.visitkununurra.com/wander
As stated by Tourism Minister David Templeman:
"The Kimberley Wanderer Pass gives visitors even more reason to Wander out Yonder and experience the rugged ranges, stunning gorges, waterfalls, pristine sandy beaches and untouched islands and reefs the region has to offer.
"Visitors can choose from an exciting range of participating tours and experiences, allowing them to get to know the region through the eyes of those who know it best.
"The pass will also support and promote a number of East Kimberley operators, as they recover and rebound from the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic."
