Optus joins club: Announces sponsorship with Aussie Esports Chiefs

Optus has strengthened its ties to the world of Australian gaming by expanding its current esports roster by signing a 12-month sponsorship agreement with The Chiefs.

As part of the arrangement, The Chiefs team will conduct their training and streaming over an Optus nbnTM connection as well as supporting Optus in the development of exciting new gaming-specific products and services in the future.

The Chiefs are one of the most successful esports organisations in Australia with 17 national championships and having competed in events across 4 different continents.

They include professional teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the League of Legends Oceanic Pro League and Call of Duty, and boast a die-hard fan base.

The Chiefs Chief Executive Officer Nick Bobir, who oversees the esports operations, described the announcement as a significant partnership for The Chiefs.
