Orange Launches New Experience Orange Fest

Orange Council

Close to 1000 people attended the inaugural Experience Orange at the Orange Botanic Gardens on Sunday, marking a strong start for the new community event.

Locals turned out in droves across the four-hour event, taking advantage of clear skies to explore food and drink stalls, community group displays, live music, kids' activities and a giant inflatable playground.

More than 30 local businesses, community groups and exhibitors participated, offering interactive experiences and information.

Experience Orange was a free, family-friendly afternoon of food, music, activities, and local discovery, sharing what makes our region such a great place to live. Hosted by Orange City Council, the event invited everyone: new residents, long-time locals, workers, and even those considering a move to Orange.

Live entertainment featured performances from the City of Orange Brass Band, a martial arts demonstration by Pollet's Martial Arts Centre, and a preview of Orange Theatre Company's upcoming production of Honk Jr.

Attendance was particularly positive given competing events in the region, including the Bathurst Royal Show and the Canowindra Balloon Festival.

Mayor Tony Mileto said the event delivered on its aim to create opportunities for residents to connect with local groups, businesses and each other.

"We wanted Experience Orange to help people discover what's on offer locally and connect with the community. It was great to see so many people taking part," Cr Mileto said.

The event was supported by major sponsors Kennards Hire and Bendigo Bank, alongside Council's events and communications teams.
