Outdoor sculptures back in our neighbourhood

For 12 days, starting on Wednesday 18 January, the Esplanade at Brighton will be transformed into an outdoor gallery space, playing host to 160 sculptures - of all shapes, sizes, forms and colours.

These include lots of larger-than-life birds - including an emu with feathers made out of cutlery - a soulful saxophone player, a dragonfly with colourful wings and an eye-catching sculpture titled Mango Man.

The Brighton Jetty Sculptures event will also take over Bindarra Reserve and will also be on exhibit inside the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.

There'll be more than 50 outdoor installations along the popular sculptures' walk along the Esplanade, and all sculptures will be for sale with proceeds supporting the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.

The annual event is South Australia's biggest sculpture exhibition and has been running since 2008, when just 34 sculptures were on display.

The 2023 Brighton Jetty Sculptures event runs until 29 January.
