The program, which is delivered in partnership with Variety Tasmania, now operates in 76 Tasmanian Government schools, offering breakfast to up to 18,000 students.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said this is part of our $6.5 million investment to expand the program to all Tasmanian Government schools by 2028 so that all students can have access to a healthy breakfast.
"Breakfast is so important for busy school days, where students need energy for a big day of learning, focusing and playing," Minister Palmer said.
"We know families are dealing with cost of living pressures and sometimes students come to school hungry for all sorts of reasons.
"Our Government is delivering for Tasmanians by ensuring students have access to nutritious meals that set them up for a day of learning and success."
School breakfast programs have been shown to lead to better attendance, improved concentration and improved educational outcomes, giving more Tasmanian students the fuel they need to thrive.
