P-plate 180km/hr Driver "had To Be Somewhere"

A 20-year-old p-plater has been caught driving at an alleged speed of 180km/hr, in a 100 zone, on the Monash Freeway in Glen Waverly.

Nunawading Highway Patrol officers intercepted a Hyundai i30 just prior to Jackson's Road in Mulgrave, early hours this morning.

The Bonnie Brook probationary driver allegedly stated that her need for speed was because she "had to be somewhere".

The driver may have to utilise public transport or sneakers next time she needs to be "somewhere", as her Hyundai was impounded for 30 days at cost of $1159.

The p-plater is expected to be charged on summons for speed and speed dangerous.
