Pair Charged After Stolen Car Crash in NW Melbourne

Police have charged two men and recovered an allegedly stolen vehicle in Hoppers Crossing yesterday.

Officers responded to reports of a white Holden Commodore driving erratically, mounting gutters and crashing into a parked unoccupied vehicle on Market Road in Werribee about 2.30pm.

It is alleged the Holden took off from the collision and continued to drive towards Hoppers Crossing, before pulling over near the intersection of Bolger Crescent and Spring Drive.

The Holden then took off again, before coming to a complete stop nearby.

When offices attempted to arrest the trio, one of the men allegedly refused to follow police direction.

A taser was deployed, and two men, along with a teenage girl, were arrested.

When searching the vehicle offices allegedly located and seized a kitchen knife.

It is alleged the Holden was stolen from a Hawthorn address early hours on 16 January.

The 15-year-old girl from the Wyndham area received a caution.

A 19-year-old Manor Lakes man was charged with theft of motor vehicle, possess prohibited weapon and resist police.

He was bailed to appear before Wyndham Magistrates' Court on 29 April.

A 21-year-old Werribee man was charged with aggravated recklessly expose emergency worker to risk by driving, reckless conduct endangering life, theft of motor vehicle, possess drug of dependence, possess controlled weapon, possess prohibited weapon, learner unaccompanied, drive unroadworthy vehicle & fail to state name and address.

He was remanded to appear before Wyndham Magistrates' Court on 21 January.
