Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two teenagers following an alleged aggravated home invasion in Cranbourne East last month.
It is understood a group of males attended an address on Parklink Drive about 3.35pm on Saturday, 16 May.
Investigators were told the group made demands to speak to a 16-year-old boy who was inside at the time.
When the boy refused, police will allege the group entered the property's garage before confronting the boy with a machete and a baton.
Police will allege the group assaulted the boy, before fleeing in a white Mercedes that was waiting nearby.
The boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
It is understood the same group approached a 15-year-old boy on Heather Grove about 4pm on 1 June.
Police will allege the group assaulted the boy, before multiple passersby intervened on his behalf.
The boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the group of males fled the scene on foot.
It is understood the parties are known to each other in both incidents.
Today detectives from Casey, with assistance from Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit and Southern Metro Region Crime Squad detectives, executed two search warrants in Lyndhurst and the Casey area.
A 19-year-old Lyndhurst man and a 16-year-old male from the Casey area were arrested.
The 19-year-old was charged with aggravated home invasion and home invasion.
He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated home invasion, home invasion, affray, intentionally cause injury and theft.
He will appear before a children's court today.
The investigation remains ongoing.
