Dog Squad members have arrested two teenagers who allegedly rammed two police vehicles in Hoppers Crossing early this morning.
An unmarked Dog Squad vehicle was on patrol when they spotted a black Hyundai Getz parked on Geddes Cresent about 1.30am.
A quick search of the rego revealed that the vehicle was stolen in recent days from outside a Tarneit gym.
They activated their police lights to intercept the vehicle, when it's alleged the driver deliberately reversed into their police car.
Another canine unit just around the corner witnessed the ramming and took up position in front of the Hyundai.
The Hyundai allegedly rammed the second police car, which has stood its ground and pushed back against the stolen car to stop it fleeing the scene.
The two occupants have fled on foot into nearby parkland, pursued by one of the very Dog Squad members they rammed.
The police dog sniffed out the pair and they were taken into custody, with one of the teens receiving a dog bite during the arrest.
There were no injuries to either the police officers or their hounds.
The 14 and 16-year-old boys remain in custody where they will be interviewed in relation to the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
