Parliament House Glows Yellow for Road Safety Week

NT Government

Parliament House will light up yellow on Monday night for National Road Safety Week.

National Road Safety Week is held from 17 to 24 May 2026 to honour those we have lost and encourage the community to make the roads safer for everyone.

Buildings and icons across Australia will be lit up yellow to shine a light on road safety and encourage people to make positive decisions to keep them and others safe on the road.

As part of National Road Safety Week, a free Family Bike Party will be held at Newland Park in Alice Springs on Friday 22 May 2026, from 3 pm - 6 pm.

The Family Bike Party will also launch the opening of the Newland Park Road Safety Centre every Saturday from 23 May to October 31, 2026.

The Northern Territory Government is committed to reducing fatalities and trauma on Territory roads.

Too many lives are lost or changed forever on Territory roads. NT drivers are four times more likely to die on the road than the national average*.

This National Road Safety Week, Territorians are urged to drive like our lives are worth living and make our roads safer for all.

Show your support for National Road Safety Week by honouring those we have lost on the road and taking the pledge to Drive So Others Survive.

Display or wear a yellow ribbon throughout the week and have conversations about positive and safe road culture with your family and friends.
