Parliament In Schools Reaches Chapel Hill, Woodridge

After visiting over 160 schools as part of the Parliament in Schools Program, the Honourable Milton Dick MP is today visiting Chapel Hill State School, with the Federal Member for Ryan, Ms Elizabeth Watson-Brown MP.

On Thursday 19 June, Treasurer the Honourable Dr Jim Chalmers MP, Federal Member for Rankin will visit St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Woodridge.

'The Parliament in Schools program is a multi-partisan initiative to make civics education accessible to students regardless of their location,' the Hon Milton Dick MP says.

'I am committed to uplifting civics education and knowledge across this country, and this starts with our youngest generation.

'Not all students will get the opportunity to travel all the way to Canberra. This is why we are taking this program on the road and bringing it to them.'

These visits are backed by resources created by the Parliamentary Education Office where students will learn about federation, democracy and the parliament. It is also the opportunity for them to hear first-hand what a typical day looks like in the electorate and when they are in Parliament House for sitting weeks.
